Our culture today views true Christians as irrelevant and extreme. Most people believe that their own version of reality is true. And not just true for them, but true for everyone else. It bothers them when their view is challenged. They believe religion should be consigned to the realm of the private sphere. Spiritual matters are only peripheral: your relationship to the Creator is less important than your retirement plan and having fun on the weekend. The insidious power and pervasiveness of worldly thinking has silenced the witness of the church. The church needs courage to share the way out of inevitable doom. Believers must not fear rejection from people. Jesus provides a stern warning: "For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels." (Mark 8:38) We need to be brave by faith!
