Books of reflection sell like hotcakes. They are books written by recovered famous individuals who have put into writing their story and the many lessons they have learned as the result. We love reading these types of books for they include tidbits of wisdom which, if we would heed them, would preserve us from costly mistakes or errors. However, few of us read them because we simply don’t have time.
Yet I will say, if it were discovered that King David wrote such a book, we’d read it. Or one from Solomon, Peter, John Mark, or any inspired writer! We’d be all over these books, wouldn’t we? I’d love to read what David or Solomon, upon reflection, had to say about God, their sin, and what it was that lifted them at their lowest moments.
Yet, today it is our privilege to look at one such “book” written by the recovering sinner, Jonah!
