Aim: To develop a habit of calling to mind the fact that our Savior is alive.
Doctrine: By often recalling that Jesus is alive we may both persevere and prosper in ministry. The church's mindset should originate in heaven; that on which we muse the most forms who (and what) we are.
Exegesis: Why it is so important to remember the right things: because otherwise we would think we were losing (vv. 8-9), our labors were in vain (v. 10), or our salvation depended on us (vv. 11-13).
Further application: How to improve in remembering the right things: first, by recognizing that this (right remembering) is our single greatest struggle; but then, by taking heart, because we can call on our Savior (by faith).
Key verse: v. 8 ''Remember that Jesus Christ, of the seed of David, was raised from the dead according to my gospel...''
