Aim: To see that discipleship requires everything of us.
Exegesis: Following Jesus requires sacrifice. We must give up everything (v. 28); in return we receive great blessing in this life (vv. 29-30a) and in eternity (v. 30b). Following Jesus requires perseverence. Will we remain with Him (v. 32a)? Will we listen to Him (v. 32b)? Will we believe Him, that He died for us (vv. 33-34a) and lives for us (v. 34b)?
Key verse: v. 28 ''Then Peter began to say to [Jesus], 'See, we have left all and followed You.'''
