"For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted." (Hebrews 2:18)
To succour means to give assistance and support.
One aspect of the sufferings of Christ and his people is that endured when being tempted. God has appointed that this is one way that Jesus and his people are to walk together, and that they receive specific help and support from their Lord.
