Christians are to be followers of Jesus and to lead others in it too. Follow my example, as I follow the example of Christ. Following Jesus is a lifelong pursuit. Yet, some people will only follow Jesus so far. They are mushrooms. They spring up, almost overnight, but they can be easily kicked over because they do not take root. They tell Jesus they dedicate their lives to Him. They tell the church they want to be members. They make commitments with their lips, but then life gives them a test and they become deluded. Are you in it for long haul? This is important more then ever at this troubled hour. Make sure you have no faulty assumptions. Spiritual truth is not merely personal and subjective, it is absolute and objective. Perceived personal happiness is not the most important thing in life. God does not exist to make me happy on my terms. Such people will never know the abundant blessing of an abiding faith!
