For the last couple of weeks we have been looking at Elijah. Tonight we will be looking at his message to King Ahaziah that he would die. First we must remember that he was a man of God. He doesn't add to the word of the Lord or take away from it. He was the Lord's servant and knew his place. He was wholly committed to the Lord and like a good servant waits for the 'word of the Lord' before he acts. I find this fascinating as all too often we try to work things out in our own strength. Here is a man of God that sees a nation change, not just in knowledge of the Lord, but also in leadership. It is not due to his insights, or wisdom in political scheming, but because he was a faithful man of God who prayed and stood for the Lord. What an encouragement it should be for us to see God power at work on a scale like this. This week we look at the death of Ahab son, Ahaziah.
