When Jesus entered Jerusalem following his baptism, it was not to "cleanse" the temple, but to declare it closed and obsolete. The temple had become a "market" instead of a house of prayer. So Jesus closed it down, and declared his own body to be the new temple, and a mobile temple at that. As he traveled throughout Israel and Samaria, all the ministries for which people had come to Jerusalem to receieve, he now brought to them. The temple of God was now mobile. Yet, people today keep erecting little temples, buildings, and refuse to function as Jesus did. In doing so they destroy the temple of God, and place themselves under the wrath of God.
