The Reformers cried, "Ad fontes!" which mean "to the sources." The Reformation called for renewed attention to the Bible as the primary source of Christian faith. This commitment to Scripture alone led to the rediscovery of the doctrines of grace. Sound knowledge depends on the sources, beloved. A new day is dawning. Opportunities for learning are increasing. Knowledge is multiplying. Not by a printing press but by the internet. There is a vast dissemination of ideas. But we must always cry, "Ad fontes!" What is the source of the information you are imbibing on the internet? There is a vast dissemination of falsity too, and people who never knew how to research can now research by googling something. But have you checked the source? Conformation bias threatens to make confident ignoramuses of us all! The Reformers had a saying, "Ecclesia reformata, semper reformanda," meaning 'the church reformed, always reforming." The Christian needs to shun formalism and live out his or her faith in the daily struggle against sin, finding rest and hope in the promises and Spirit of God. Since we now have a church reformed in the externals of doctrine, let us always be working to ensure that our hearts and lives are being reformed by the Word of God and the Spirit of God. We are not "the frozen chosen," nor the "us four and no more!"
