Living Beyond Fear. Matt. 27:54;28:2-4.We honor the courage of veterans while exploring how Christ's resurrection empowers us to rise above fear. In Matthew 27:54, we see how even the hardened soldiers, witnesses to Christ's death, were struck with awe, saying, "Truly this was the Son of God." Their fear at the crucifixion reveals the power of encountering Christ in transformative moments. Similarly, in Matthew 28:2-4, the resurrection scene shakes the guards to the core, yet the angel brings words of hope to the women: "Fear not." This juxtaposition highlights how Jesus' victory over death offers us a pathway to live courageously. As veterans exemplify bravery in battle, we, too, are called to live courageously in faith. Like the soldiers and disciples, we face fears in various forms, but Christ's resurrection shows us that we can live beyond them. Veterans Day reminds us to honor those who served and inspires us to face our personal battles with strength that comes from God.
