None of us are special in everything and in every way! That is, all of us humans. But God is in a class by Himself, for He is holy! His perfections sets Him apart. Because God is holy, He is absolutely perfect. Because God is holy, He cannot sin nor can He tempt us to sin. Because God is holy, He sets the standards of right and wrong. We are to be holy as He is holy. But how does man respond when confronted with the Holy God? Isaiah 6:1 provides a contrast between the two human responses. Uzziah the King responded by profaning God's holiness when he sinned by entering the temple. He treated God as common. But Isaiah, when confronted with the Holy God, recognized his own sinfulness, repented of his sin, and bowed in obedience to do whatever God had for him. His response was 'Here am I, Lord! Send me!' We today respond to God's holiness in the same manner. Many profane God's holiness. But a few of us have bowed before the Holy God, acknowledged our sinfulness, repented, and responded with a desire to do whatever God commands. Here am I, Lord, send me!
