-God is eternal: he has no beginning, and he will have no end; time itself is his creation. -God's knowledge is inherently comprehensive and perfect. -God knows everything that happens in his universe because he is sovereign; even Christ's crucifixion was by "the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God." -And God is gracious; the works James speaks of are the saving of undeserving sinners. This is so amazing that it has to be repeated again and again throughout the New Testament.
It is wonderful that such a God would be concerned for us at all, and yet we creatures of the dust seem to be his main concern!
