Leviticus 18-1-16. After the laws about the Day of Atonement and the shedding of and eating blood, God then instructed Moses on laws regarding unlawful uncovering of nakedness. In reading this, people want to shift this to purely sexual matters, but God chooses His language with precision. The issue at hand is when people are uncovering nakedness for the goal of uncovering nakedness. Frequently, that is sexual in intent, but it could be other things and these laws are outlawing those other things as well. God is giving these laws not just to testify to the sin of fornication, but also to testify that mankind should be ashamed of its nakedness. Rebellion against God manifests itself in the flaunting of nakedness, in having no shame. Another thing to note about the passage is that it assigns nakedness to people. You are not allowed to uncover your grandchild's nakedness, because it is your nakedness. That language is not about the possession of the nakedness to do with as you wish. The language is about who has specific responsibility to protect the nakedness of others.
