A very thirsty Israel arrives at Rephidim, but there is no water. Rather than remembering what God has done, they complain and cause Moses to exclaim to God 'What shall I do with this people?' We see the sovereign power and providing hand of God as Moses leads them to the rock at Horeb, which springs forth with water when it is struck with Moses' rod. With the explicit aid of the New Testament, we see that the Rock at Horeb is a remarkable picture of the Lord Jesus Christ. Are you concerned about those around you and unsure what to do with them, or for them? Does it seem as if nothing is good enough for them, and nobody can help them? The answer in the scripture is plain: Lead them to the Rock!
