God's Holiness pervades all of His other Attributes. Everything He is and does is holy, holy, holy. To not see God's transcendant otherness and to fail to see the beauty and harmony of all that God is, is to serve an idol at best, and to be under a false religion at worse. Because the heart of all false religion and all idolatry is found in not embraceing and not confessing God's holiness. We are to present the holy God to them in all that He is. The Holy One is in our midst. He would dwell among the people who He would make holy. To speak of God's holiness as simply His otherness is a mistake. It is important to stress the relational character for grasping the nature of God's holiness. It is fataly easy to think of God's holiness simply as a mode of God's sheer otherness and transdence rather than relational. The holiness of God is not to be identified simply as that which distances God from us. Rather God is holy precisely as the One who in majesty and freedom and sovereign power bends down to us in mercy. God is the Holy One, but He is the Holy One in Your midst. The Holy One moves towards unholy creatures.
