Certain men from Judaea wanted the Gentile believers to be circumcised believing they cannot be saved unless they be circumcised. Paul and Barnabas debated with them and decided to take the controversy to the Apostles and Elders in Jerusalem to rule on the issue. The issue is settled, the Gentiles are under no obligation nor is salvation evidenced by circumcision.
