He is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon and Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedics currently in active practice in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is a member of Springs Reformed Church (RPCNA). He retired from the Army in August of 2014 after serving for over 30 years with 3 deployments to Jordan, Afghanistan and Kuwait. He is a recipient of the Bronze Star, Legion of Merit and Combat Medical Badge. While on active duty, he served as the lead surgeon for WCAP (World Class Athlete Program) and the All Army Soccer team (both men and women). He has been a member of OCF (Officer Christian Fellowship) and CMDA (Christian Medical and Dental Association), where he has lectured on matters of faith in combat. He has previously taught on bio-medical ethical issues and finds the topic of extreme relevance to our culture. He has been married for over 33 years to Tammi Jo Klajnbart (formerly Altizer).
