After hurricane Katrina, there were good people there to help the victims, from Maine to California, and every other state. Food, water, medicine, and transportation was furnished by people they didn’t even know. At the risk of losing their own lives, men and women rescued people from water, wind, starvation and disease. To these unselfish, godly people, we say thank you! We hope someone will be there for you if your life is ever in dangers.

I have said many times, “Hard times bring out the best in good people, but they being out the worst in bad people.” We are always distressed to hear about looters going in when windows are broken and doors are blown down. They steal from helpless home owners and businesses. What a shame! Sometimes I feel almost ashamed to be a member of the human race. But we are, and we must let the Lord change our hearts by His presence and lift us above that unbelievable sinfulness that is in out hearts before conversion. The Bible tells us in the book of Jeremiah that our hearts are evil until the God of heaven takes up residence there at the new birth. Jeremiah 17:9, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” That is why Jesus tells us in John 3:7, “Marvel not that I said unto thee, ye must be born again.”
