Since we know that Christ is Christmas, and Christmas is Christ, there is nothing else to celebrate but Him on His birthday. Without Christ there would be no Christmas and no hope of salvation.

You read about the reason for the season in John 1:10-12, “He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not. But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believed on his name.”

Every kind of sin party on earth is going on every Christmas! The Lord must weep when he sees rivers of whiskey, oceans of beer, and lakes of wine and other intoxicating beverages being consumed. Many who say they are Christians join in the disgraceful celebrations that almost make Satan ashamed. Real children of God will have no part in any kind of party that dishonors Christ!

Christmas is so very commercialized now that stores in July are trying to sell their goods, and many times forget the true meaning of Christmas.

Many Americans have a big party, but it is not a birthday party for Jesus. How would you like to stand where Jesus stands and really see the hearts of those throwing the sin parties? If Jesus Christ is not going to be the center of everything you do, just don’t celebrate at all. Christmas is not Christmas without Christ. Sodom and Gomorrah were having some parties like this just before the big fire. Do you expect to be an exception to the rule? I don’t think we as a people, or America as a nation, can stand very long when we are spitting in God’s face with sin.

I’ll pledge allegiance to my flag, I’ll worship God, I’ll honor my service men, love my country, and oh yes, I l say, “Merry Christmas” regardless of what it costs me.

Daniel faced the lions’ den, the three Jews faced the fiery furnace, Paul spent time in jail, and countless others stood for God and righteousness, so why would I try to dodge the bullet. Jesus left his home in glory, came to this sin cursed world and died for my sins on the cross, so why would I deny him at Christmas?
