Back in my boyhood days we had what I think was a very unusual rooster among our yard chickens. He was different from any other average red rooster. It was strange how he seemed to know things other birds of a feather did not know.

I named him Dawnbuster because he would jump up on the chicken house at dawn and crow three times. Then, strangely enough he would come to the side window where I was sleeping, jump on top of a rose trellis, and crow “cock-a-doodle-do” three times. It was always three times, rain or shine, in any kind of weather.

That old boy seemed to know I needed to be up and going at day light, so he would make sure to wake me on time. It was always at the break of day when my chores needed to be done. Dawnbuster is gone now and I always missed him. I’ll never get another rooster like him.

But I have been thinking, there is another coming to wake me from my earthly slumber, perhaps even soon or any minute, and his name is not Dawnbuster, but Jesus Christ. He may come at day break, morning, noon or night, but He is coming. I am referring to the rapture of the church (born again believers) when Jesus comes for that happy “Catching Away” he tells us about. Read I Thessalonians 4:13-17. “But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent (precede) them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: And the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
