The Law Drives Unbelievers to Christ
One of the purposes of the law for an unbeliever is to condemn them and drive them to God. Man cannot barter with God. It is impossible. There is no way we can appease the wrath of God through good works, and the law shows us that. It lays out God’s standard of holiness, and it isn’t just speaking of outward works, but it aims for the heart as well. There is no escape. It shows us that “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Rom. 3:23), and there “There is none righteous, no, not one” (Rom. 3:9). It shows unbelievers that they are hopeless, and drives them to Christ, who is their only hope. Jason Dohm, in this video , talks about the use of the law for an unbeliever.
