“I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.” -- Psalm 122:1
It is true that I have sin in me, but it is pardoned. God has forgiven me all trespasses. I stand before Him in my Redeemer, Who undertook for me, and I am perfect in Him. The Father chose me in His Son. He looks upon the face of His beloved and sees me in Him. In Christ He is well pleased, so He is with me! As He loves Christ, He loves me! This is the glorious privilege which by faith I now enjoy. I deny sight and sense, and I believe the Word of God! I adhere strictly to the Word of God concerning me, believing myself to be dead indeed unto sin in Christ, and in Him absolutely freed from guilt and condemnation.
The Father is at peace with me, and He loves me in His son with the same love with which He loves Christ – His Father and my Father. With this persuasion I go to war with my corruption. They are fighting against everything that is dear and precious to my soul. But having the promised grace of the almighty Savior for my help, I desire to set upon them in His name. I am at war with sin but at peace in Christ! -- William Romaine

THE INFINITE CHRIST
Thank God, the Savior He has provided for us is possessed of limitless resources. There is no shortness or straitness in Him. There is infinite value in that precious blood which He shed upon the Cross to make an atonement for sin. There is infinite pity in His heart toward sinners. There is infinite readiness and willingness on His part to receive all who will come to Him. There is infinite power in His arm to deliver and keep that which is committed unto Him. There is no sinner so depraved that Christ’s blood cannot cleanse him. There is no sinner so bound by the fetters of Satan that Christ cannot free him. There is no sinner so weary and despondent that Christ cannot satisfy him. The promise of the Savior Himself is, "Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). O, sin-sick soul, put Him to the test for yourself, and see. Come to Christ just as you are, in all your wretchedness and need, and He will gladly receive you, blot out all your iniquities, and put a new song into your mouth. May God, in His grace, cause some despondent ones to prove for themselves the infinite sufficiency of His Son. – A. W. Pink
THE BIBLE TELLS US SO
The Bible tells us there is only one way of salvation for sinners – the way of God’s free, sovereign grace in and by the Lord Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ crucified is the only way of forgiveness of sins and righteousness before God. The Lord Himself said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Me” (John 14:6). Peter said, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). The Bible tells us God commands sinful men to seek salvation by seeking Christ, for He is salvation (Isa. 45:21-25; 55:6-7). We know all who truly seek Him will find Him (Matt. 7:7-8). The Bible also tells us sinful men by nature will not of their own wills seek the Lord (Psalm 14:2-3; Rom. 3:10-12). The Bible tells us any sinner who truly seeks the Lord has been given a new heart, a new spirit, and a new will by the Holy Spirit as He makes the Gospel “the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believeth” (Rom. 1:16). Those who seek the Lord and find Him are submitted to Him as their righteousness by which God justifies them (Rom. 10:4). What should we do with what the Bible tells us? Some say, “Well, if I can’t seek the Lord of my own free will, there’s nothing I can do. If God is going to save me, He will, no matter what I do.” This is sinful man presuming upon God and tempting Him. It is man trying to play God because “the secret things belong unto the LORD our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law” (Deut. 29:29). Ask yourself, “As a sinner without hope in and of myself, do I see my need of Christ for all salvation, forgiveness, righteousness, eternal life, and glory? Do I desire salvation through Him and His righteousness alone?” If you do, consider this – “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled” (Matt. 7:6). How are they filled? They are filled with Jesus Christ by His Spirit and His Word so as to believe and rest in Him. How do we know this? We know this because the Bible tells us so, and the Bible is God’s Word of salvation (2 Tim. 3:15)!
