Finish the Mission is a call for every believer to be involved at some level, in some way, in completing the task of taking the Gospel to the ends of the earth. There is much work remaining to be done. There remains 1,000s of people groups around the world that have yet to hear the good news of Jesus Christ. It is a sobering, daunting task that will require joyful sacrifice, but God has given this task to His church and He has given us His spirit, His grace, and His Word to accomplish His will for every tribe, nation, and tongue. The mission will not fail, but we as believers and churches can fail to be in the mission and taking part in seeing it accomplished for His glory and the joy of all peoples!

Each chapter is a contribution from various authors who take a biblical look at various aspects of this grand, global mission. This book will challenge you to be missional at home and intentional in being involved in ways to support and carry the Gospel. It will also cause you to stop and consider if the Lord may be calling you to spend your life in a foreign context to witness unreached and unengaged peoples hearing and embracing the Gospel. In other words, this book will challenge you to think with an eternal perspective rather than the temporary, earthly perspective we normal operate under.

"Unreached" refers to people groups who have 2% or less of a Gospel witness among them. In other words, the present Gospel witness is unable to reach the entire group and is unsustainable at its present point. "Unengaged" refers to people groups in which no one is specifically working to bring the Gospel to them. As a result, there are literally millions living in the world today who are born, will live their entire lives, die, and will have never heard anything about the good news. They will die in their sin, separated from God simply because they were separated from His Word, from His Gospel, from His Son.

This is not an optional call for us. This is a mandate. But it is a glorious one. One filled with triumph and hardship, victory and suffering, but one that yields an eternity of joy, for the sender, the go-er, and the receiver!
