August was a â€œslow down & catch your breathâ€ month with only two special activitiesâ€”Red Lion Street Fair on Sat., Aug 10 and a Youth all-night activity on Fri., Aug. 9.

Remember the Reformersâ€™ Unanimous (RU) that meets every Friday night from 7 to 9 in our Gym for the purpose of helping anyone who is addicted to anything.

The transition continues at Mt. Zion. Pastor Randy Starr will be leaving Sept. 16.
Pastor Chris Starr will become Mt. Zionâ€™s 7th pastor. Special activities are planned for Sat. & Sun., Sept. 14-15. New pastoral staff members include Michael Hunt who moved here in March and Tom Almanza who will arrive Oct. 1. Mt. Zion will remain the same vibrant, separatist, soul-winning, ministry-oriented, Bible-preaching church on the Hill that it has been for 54 years.

In a day when churches nationwide are in a state of flux, giving-in to new philosophyâ€™s of purpose-driven ministry and changing doctrines, Mt. Zion Baptist Church remains the way we have always beenâ€”â€œChurch, the way it used to be.â€ We stress solid Bible preaching and teaching, emphasize individual and family living for Christ, focus on reaching out to our community and the world with the Gospel, and try to guard against the influx of worldliness into the church.
