For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. I Cor. 15:53
“We are not called down to the grave, but to the skies. Our heaven-born spirits are born to rise.” What a wonderful way to look at life through the eyes of faith. In this world there is a constant reminder of death, but God adds a dimension that gives life. The hope of the believer is life, and not just in this world, but also in that which is to come. The whole key to obtaining immortality is to know the giver of life, as God is our divine benefactor, not only of the earthly, but the heavenly. John in the book of Revelation said: “And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them, Come up hither.” This is the hope of every true child of God, to know Him and the “power of His resurrection.”
If you have not the assurance of this hope then you are in need of assurance, and through the saving grace of God you can know your eternal destiny. Therefore when you do experience the saving grace of God, your call to, “Come up hither….” Will be by the assurance of Faith through Jesus Christ our Lord, for he has risen from the grave. The resurrection of Christ is the cornerstone of our faith and hope of life eternal.
Perhaps you have a dread of death, thinking that it is the end and, what next? I would like to tell you, that to know Jesus is to know the promise of eternal life, and that there will be a resurrection. An old preacher once said: “We are immortal until our work on earth is done.” He simply meant that we cannot die until the appointed time. Now I believe that by the saving grace of God we are immortal forever, that the mortal body must be changed into the immortal, and that is what God will do for the redeemed.
When we take the Son of God as our Savior, we are then given the promise that when we die we shall be changed, “and the corruptible shall put on incorruption”. How glorious for the Christian to know that, “we shall be like him for we shall see him as he is.” When God calls us home as his children it will be a glad and blessed reunion. Ask Jesus to be your Savior, repent and confess your sin, and you can be with him also, for to know him is to know life eternal. In Jesus name. Amen. Pdlg
