If there is a place on earth more valuable than any other place, or a place we ought to visit more often for its virtue than any other, it is the place where God is glorified, Christ is exalted, sinners are saved, and God’s people are edified. It is the place where the Gospel of God’s free and sovereign grace in Christ is preached and the Word of God is taught. If someone were to hold a gathering where my children were to be honored for their character and their accomplishments, is there any doubt that, unless providentially hindered, I would be there? My attendance would show how much I love and am proud of my children. Well consider the glorious Person and redemptive accomplishments of Christ, my Lord and Savior, to save me from my sins! As God in human flesh, He gave Himself fully and freely to die for my sins charged to Him, and in return he charged His righteousness to me. As a result He has given me His Spirit to bring me not only to trust and love Him but also to glory in Him. How valuable is Christ and His truth to me? Let each of us ask ourselves this question – “Can others (my family, my children, my friends and acquaintances) tell from my life how precious and valuable I hold this place in my heart?” “One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in His temple.” (Psalm 27:4)

THE INFLUENCE OF ATONING BLOOD
Has atoning blood so influenced our eyes that we see no true beauty apart from Christ crucified? Has atoning blood influenced our ears so that we can listen to no sound so sweet as that of Jesus’ precious name? Has atoning blood so influenced our hands that we are willing to labor for His sake? Has atoning blood so influenced our feet that we cannot safely take a single step without Him? If this is the case with us, then we are the servants of Jesus Christ, bought with His blood, born in His house, and blessed with His bounty.

JOYFUL IN THE LORD
"And my soul shall be joyful in the LORD: it shall rejoice in His salvation" (Psalm 35:9).
The very soul of the child of God rejoices in Christ Jesus. We rejoice in Him because He is the Christ, the sent One, the Messiah, the Son of God, the eternal Surety of His people. We rejoice in Him because He is Jesus our Brother Who stands in near relation to us. He is Emmanuel, God with us, our Mediator by Whom we have access to the Father. He is our Savior Who came to"save His people from their sins" (Matthew 1:21) by His substitutionary death upon the cross. We rejoice in Him for He is "able to save to the uttermost all that come unto God by Him seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for us" (Hebrews 7:25). We rejoice in Him for He has redeemed all of His people to God by His blood. He will preserve us to the end and then present us "faultless before the presence of His glory with joy" (Jude 1:24). His Person is all-glorious, His blood is precious, His righteousness is impeccable, His sacrifice was effectual to the redemption and justification of His people, His power to call us to faith in Himself is irresistible, His salvation is everlasting and His grace to eternally preserve us shall never fail. In Him we were blessed with "all spiritual blessings" (Ephesians 1:3) and like Mary of old every believer says, "My spirit hath rejoiced in God my Savior" (Luke 1:47). The church speaks with one voice through the prophet and says, "I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He hath clothed me with the garments of salvation, He hath covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decketh himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herself with her jewels" (Isaiah 61:10). –

These things about Christ and His priestly work being true, we are admonished to do two things. [1] "Let us hold fast our profession." Cling tenaciously to Christ and His gospel of salvation by free grace based upon His sacrifice alone. [2] "Let us come boldly to the throne of grace." Come through Him to the throne of God for pardon, for a justifying righteousness, for acceptance, for the presentation of our sacrifices of thanksgiving and praise and for every supply of daily mercy and grace that we need.
