What a Difference Prayer Makes - Psalm 4
In our study of the Psalms, we looked this past Sunday at the difference prayer makes from Psalm 4. Even in the middle of very difficult circumstances (on the run from his son Absalom), through faith, David moved from calling out to God in prayer (v1) to resting peacefully in God (v8). David was able to trust in the Lord (v5) even while living in tremendously trying circumstances. How can we do the same? How can we trust in the Lord when our lives seem to be void of God? Here are 5 reasons or ways we can trust in the Lord in the difficult times of life.
We trust in the Lord because He is sovereign and He has brought about the circumstances we find ourselves in. We trust in the Lord because He is faithful, and He is not going to leave us to ourselves in this circumstance. We trust in the Lord because He is good, and He will bring about good somehow, in some way, at some time through this circumstance. We trust in the Lord because He is just, and He will hold others accountable for their wrongdoing. We trust in the Lord because He is present, and He knows exactly what we are going through, exactly how we feel, and even how He is going to answer. Keep praying, believing, and trusting! It makes a difference because God makes a difference in answer to faith-filled praying.
