For the wider area Steve and Robin Henry from Texas, USA β Visiting Mexico
We've just returned from a week of ministry in Mexico with a team of a little over 100 people. They were located in six different locations and God once again showed Himself mighty in blessing all the groups. Two of the communities where we located teams this past week were brand new areas for ministry. Both teams were well received in Emiliano Zapata and Centenario. In addition to having VBS programs for children, we held medical clinics. As important as those ministries were, the real ministry happened as Americans and Mexicans built friendships that are most often the foundations on which real opportunities for sharing the gospel occur. At our debriefing session last night we shared the passage from Psalm 115:1 which says, "Not to us, O LORD, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness." He indeed demonstrated his love and faithfulness this week and we give Him all the praise for what was accomplished. On Tuesday we will be leaving for ministry in southern Mexico. We won't return to Texas until the end of August. We're doing a medical clinic and a baseball clinic in La Barra de la Cruz. From there we'll be heading into the mountains of Oaxaca where we'll be conducting our first medical clinic among the Coicoyan tribe. Please pray for God's blessings on these 2 ministries. We have excellent contacts in La Barra and have some good friendships established. We have shared the gospel with various individuals. Some names of people to pray for specifically in La Barra are Vicente & Josafina (husband & wife). They are not believers but have become good friends. Pray as well for Pablo and Miguel (brothers). We have shared the gospel with these two men and are asking God to save them. As we go to Coicoyan, pray that we'll see new friendships established. This is a totally unreached people group. To our knowledge there is 1 believer among this 25,000 member subgroup of the Mixtecos. In the past they have been resistant to evangelical efforts. Pray that God would work in hearts. Pray also for our travel safety. We'll be going to Coicoyan during rainy season. We'll be driving many miles on Mexican roads--your prayer support is much appreciated.
Thought for the week: βBut God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christβ¦β Galatians 6:14
