Special Notice: Due to building work in the church, we look forward to beginning childrenβs youth meetings again in the first week of October.
Prayer for the church Please pray for the on going weekly activities that God may bless each.
Please pray for those on holiday this week. Especially remember Pastor and Marilyn, that they may have a restful break.
Continue to pray for Peggy as she recovers from a hip operation. Also pray for Janet as she looks after her mother. Please remember both Mrs. Fairclough and Auntie Kit in your prays. Please pray for Ralph as he speaks at Whitstable tonight.
For the local area Gravesend is the church on our Prayer Diary for the coming week. The church correspondent writes: "Praise God that the church is growing. Pray for our evangelism, for a deeper commitment of regular visitors and for a new pastor."
For the wider area - CCIW camp 2005
CCIW stands for Christian Camps In Wales. The camp we attended was one of four held on the camp site during July & August. We had nearly 100 campers and 50 officers camping altogether, in a place called Tywyn which is in mid-Wales on the West Coast.
CCIW is a charitable organisation who run these camps to provide great outdoor fun, but with God and the Bible at the centre of each day. There is a service held in the main marquee every morning (two on Sunday) and individual tent Bible studies in the evenings of Monday to Thursday. On Friday evening there is a camp concert with various different sketches from comedy to singing, a camp bonfire and a small closing talk from the Bible called an epilogue.
The daytime activities include mountain walking/climbing, canoeing, gully bashing (gauge walking against the flow of river), mountain biking, trips to the beach, crazy golf, an officer hunt in Barmouth and of course. . .trips to Tywyn sports centre for occasional showers!!
Over the week of camp approximately 3150 sandwiches were made and consumed, 900 packets of crisps consumed, 1050 hot dinners prepared and eaten and 420 pints of milk used.
We give God all the praise and thanks for safety over the week in travel and during all the activities, and pray that God would bless the word spoken to each camper and use it unto salvation.
