“For in HIM dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in HIM, which is the head of all principality and power.”
Colossians 2:9-10
What a great and glorious message this is! All the fullness of the Godhead dwells in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ, and all who are united to Him are complete in HIM! Christ is the fullness of all wisdom, righteousness, sanctification (holiness), and redemption that God requires, and this is true of all who believe in Him, all who rest in the blessed fact that His blood and righteousness alone entitles them to the whole inheritance of eternal life and final glory in Heaven. If all who believe in Him are complete in Him, and it is all based on the merits of His righteousness alone, then there is nothing left for believers to do in order to attain salvation. We have it completely, and it will never be lost. There is nothing for us to do in order to be qualified, fit, or entitled to any part of salvation. Christ has done it all for us, and we are complete and secure in Him. Is He qualified and able to attain and maintain all of this for us? Well, in His Person dwells all the fullness of the Godhead, and He by His death on the cross satisfied the justice of God and honored every attribute of the Godhead in our complete redemption. Does this mean that there is nothing at all for us to do? NO! We as sinners saved by grace and made complete in and by Christ have much to do. We must spend our lives resting in Christ, following Christ and His Word, honoring and worshipping Him, loving Him and our brethren in Him so as to glorify Him as our complete Savior and Lord who has made us complete in Himself.
Pastor Bill Parker
And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.”(Romans 11:6)
Always know that in the matter of the ground of salvation and its security, grace and works can never mix. One will always cancel out the other. Grace is justification before God based on the imputed righteousness of Christ alone. Works is justification by what men do or think they are enabled to do with the help of God. Grace is forgiveness of all sins totally and exclusively by the blood of Christ. Works is forgiveness in whole or in part by the repentance and good works of men. Grace is salvation conditioned on CHRIST ALONE. Works is salvation conditioned in some way on the sinner.

ARE YOU ONE OF GOD'S ELECT?
Did you know that God's love is without beginning, without cause and without end? His love is eternal, unchangeable and everlasting. That means that all who are loved of God now were loved of God before the world was made and shall be loved of God forever.
The love of God is the cause of all His acts of grace. In eternal love, before creation, God chose a great multitude of sinners who he would save by the Person and work of Jesus Christ. (Eph. 1:4-6) Since God will never change His mind, all those whom He chose and predestinated to eternal salvation will be saved. Not one of God's elect shall perish! Are you one of God's elect? Peter tells us to make our "calling and election sure." (II Pet 1:10) Well, how can I do that? How can I know if I was chosen and called of God unto salvation? The question is answered simply by asking ourselves, "In whom do I trust?" Do I trust Jesus Christ alone as my Lord and Savior?" If you do then you have reason to believe that God chose you in His eternal love. Your God-given faith is the evidence of your election in Christ. (Heb. 11:1) Saving faith is the result of the Holy Spirit's regenerating call. (Eph. 2:8,9) Since nobody deserves salvation, if God has saved you then you have reason to rejoice. Faith in Christ is the assurance of one's election from eternity past. Are you one of God's elect?

THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST, THE POWER OF GOD
I do fear that I fail to have the confidence I ought to have in the gospel of our sovereign God. Paul said, " For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek." (Rom 1:16) Though it be in the hands of a weak preacher and weak witnesses, this does not diminish or restrict its power. The gospel is not weak in power but we are often weak in faith. Oh God, grant to us faith and confidence in your sovereign power through that great instrument, the gospel. Awaken your people from spiritual death and call them from darkness to light with this Word. It is the "gospel of Christ" the sovereign, successful Savior and cannot fail. It is the summons of the King and none of your sheep will successfully resist it. I am ashamed of my lack of confidence but I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ. Lord, give your word success and increase in us a confident faith!
