What makes for good preaching? What qualities and characteristics set one sermon apart from countless others? Paul urges his friends to pray for two things - boldness and clarity. One who declares the word of God speaks not in his own authority, but with God's authority. This enables him to be bold in what he says. Equally important is the need for clarity - to make things plain, understandable and intelligible to the hearer.
