Christ Our Sabbath
"There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For HE that is entered into HIS rest, HE also hath ceased from HIS own works, as God did from HIS." (Hebrews 4:9-10)
Brethren, we who, by the power of God the Holy Spirit, have believed in Christ and repented of our own dead works have entered into a true, spiritual, eternal sabbath rest.
Our rest is not one day of the week on which we cease to work physically.
Our rest is a Person who by Himself finished a work for us and rested from that work.
Our sabbath rest is CHRIST AND HIM CRUCIFIED!
Christ on the cross finished the work He was sent to do in the redemption and justification of His people, God's elect. He put away our sins and gave us His righteousness, and we rest in Him. When we by the Holy Spirit enter into our sabbath rest, we enter into HIS rest. We rest in His redeeming grace and love for us. The call of the Gospel is a call, not to work for salvation, but to rest in Christ for all of salvation. All good works are by the power of God and motivated in us as fruit unto God that flows from our rest in Christ our Sabbath.

Something to Think About
Sinners will either be saved based on the righteousness of Christ alone, or they are debtors to do the whole law. It is either one or the other. If righteousness comes by the law (by our efforts to keep the law) then Christ died in vain. It is either all grace or all works, and grace reigns through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord (Romans 5:21).

A Short Study of Ephesians 1:3
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ." (Ephesians 1:3) God has blessed his people from the beginning with every needful new covenant blessing, treasured up in Christ Jesus their covenant Head. There is not a single blessing of grace and salvation which is not secured and deposited in him. Ah, my friends, it is well for us they are treasured up in Christ Jesus, because in him they are safe and secure. The Holy Spirit, in his appointed time, convinces the heart of the poor sinner of the need of these spiritual blessings; he gives him deeply to feel his need, and puts a cry in his heart after them.
The Lord says, "I will yet for this be enquired of by the house of Israel, to do it for them." The poor sinner will never come to Christ, bow down before him and seek the Lord's blessing, until he is brought into poverty, destitution and indigent circumstances. He will never flee to Christ for refuge until every other resource fails him, and he is at his wits' end and knows not what to do. But, blessed be his name, Christ is a refuge for the helpless and the destitute.

Genuine Assurance
We draw assurance from the death of Christ, because we realize that it is not possible for Christ to have died in vain (Isaiah 53:9-10).
It is blasphemy to imagine that Christ shed His blood in vain. The intent of Christ in His death cannot be frustrated. He shall see of the travail of His soul and be satisfied. That which God our Savior meant to do by dying shall be done. His precious blood was not wasted upon any! Here is our assurance - "It is Christ that died!"
If Christ died for me, I shall not die. If Christ was punished for me, I cannot be punished. If Christ was condemned for me, I cannot be condemned.
