“Coffee with Christ”

(Jeremiah 10:6-7)
“Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O Lord; thou art great, and thy name is great in might. Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? For to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee.”

When I was a child I was afraid of my father. When I had done wrong, I knew it and I knew more than likely he would find out about it and there would be correction coming from him. But I believed he loved me and I loved and respected him. But the very name, Daddy, had a certain power that went with it! There is power in the Name of God! God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit! But the question here is, “Who would not fear Thee?” There are many who don’t. Some who claim to know Him have no fear of Him. Maybe they don’t know Him as well as they think they do or maybe even not at all! Some believe the word FEAR just means to have a reverence or a respect for. That God does not want you to be afraid of Him, just to reverence Him. They seem to not recognize the depravity of the old nature that still is alive and well in us all. If I had no knee shaking fear of the correction that my earthly father would give I would have been much more rebellious than I already was. Fear is a good thing when the application is done for the right cause. Yes, I was afraid of my earthly father and yes, I am afraid of my Heavenly Father. The difference between the two is my Heavenly Father always corrects me in the right way, for the right cause.

(Hebrews 12:7-10)
“If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness.”
