"The LORD values those who fear him, those who put their hope in his faithful love."
Those who trust God's love will be rewarded. We have no strength of our own, but he's our sufficiency. Psalm 147:10 — "He is not impressed by the strength of a horse; he does not value the power of a warrior." He's a faithful God to help the helpless.
First, "the Lord values those that fear him." Trusting the Lord and fearing, go hand in hand. We regard him as a mighty God who chastens and punishes sin. We fear the wrath, or the rod. We are not ignorant of coming Judgment, nor of God's rightful authority. We believe that he's just, good, and to be obeyed. Therefore, we call on him in trouble, and he delivers us. He gives us strength to combat sin - forgiveness and the power of the Spirit. He shows that he's here to help. Hebrews 4:16, "Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need."
Let nothing stop your reverence of God! Don't let sin drive you away. Look not at the world frolicking for a season. Remember, it's better to obey. Trust God to give you a non murmuring mouth, and gracious lips.
Secondly, God helps," those who put their hope in his faithful love."
We don't trust ourselves or our righteousness. We have no strength. We trust the righteousness of God in Christ, trusting the blood he shed, and his grace to sinners. We trust the power of the Spirit freely given to us. We come guilty, filthy, and naked, trusting him for everything it takes to be godly, and to endure to the end. This is a quiet place of peace! Romans 8:6, "For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace."
I heard from someone recently, who said she's tired. I want us all to know that exhaustion with life - sin, and its temporary allurements - is NECESSARY training for coming to Christ. He says, in Matthew 11:28, “Come to me, all you that are weary and are carrying heavy burdens, and I will give you rest." After we realize that we are nothing, then he helps us. Deuteronomy 32:36," The Lord will indeed vindicate His people and have compassion on His servants when He sees that their strength is gone and no one is left—slave or free." He does not want our help. He wants us to rely on him.
Finally, child of God, do God's will by the Spirit. Sinner, come to Christ, as helpless as you are!
