His bride is here. She is on pins and needles, eagerly awaiting His appearance. She knows that His appearing means her eternal bliss and she can hardly stand the wait!!
Others are here, too. They are pretending as if He will not return (II Peter 3:3-4). Like the bride, they cannot stand the wait, either, but for a very different reason. They know that upon His return, there will be hell to pay. They would rather not think about it. And some rarely do. Some, the more thoughtful ones, choose to believe the concocted, imaginary tales spun by the evil one. Tales such as, "He doesn't exist" or "The Big Bang brought about everything, so life has no real meaning" or "Hell isn't real" or "A loving God would never punish people like that".
These tales give unbelievers a false sense of security and allow them to live their lives with some sense of "peace" in the face of impending doom.
We are all thinking about it. The return of Jesus, I mean. Want proof? Read Ecclesiastes 3:9-14 - "What gain has the worker from his toil? I have seen the business that God has given to the children of man to be busy with. He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, He has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil—this is God’s gift to man. I perceived that whatever God does endures forever; nothing can be added to it, nor anything taken from it. God has done it, so that people fear before Him."
God has installed an "eternity awareness gland" into the core of a man. We all know it is happening.
We inherently know that whatever the eternal God creates, He creates to last for eternity...and His creation is eternal...that is, unless, He destroys it. No created being has the power to destroy His eternal creation, but He does. And destroy this earth, He will (II Peter 3:5-7), only to remake it new.
Those who remain citizens of this earthly kingdom will be destroyed along with it. Those who have their citizenship transferred to His heavenly kingdom, will live with Him forever!
Dear reader, believe on Jesus and be saved! He has promised to rescue those who do from imminent, eternal destruction!
