CALL TO WORSHIP
Come, let us sing the song of songs,
The glory which to Christ belongs;
The hosts of Heaven began the strain,
"Worthy the Lamb, for He was slain."
Slain to redeem us by His blood,
And make us kings and priests to God,
To cleanse from ev'ry sinful stain,
"Worthy the Lamb, for He was slain."
Among a thousand hearts and songs,
His sacred name fills all our tongues;
All pow'r in Heav'n and earth proclaim,
"Worthy the Lamb, for He was slain."
Long as I live and when I die,
This song of songs shall be my cry;
And while in Heav'n with Him I reign,
"Worthy the Lamb, for He was slain."
(Tune: “Just As I Am” p. 249)

BORN OF GOD
“Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God” (I John 5:1)
The main evidence that a person has been born again by God the Holy Spirit is faith in Christ. Everyone who has been born again believes that Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ.
Being born of God is not just a head knowledge that Jesus of Nazareth is the Christ. The devils believe that and tremble but they are not saved. Being born of God gives heart faith in Christ and Christ alone. Being born of God makes a sinner hang the entirety of his soul on Christ. Being born of God makes a sinner trust Christ as all of his righteousness. Being born of God makes a sinner cling to Christ because Christ is everything that he needs and wants.
Do you believe on Christ like that? If so, you are born of God. The only way any son of Adam can believe on Christ as all of his salvation is if God the Holy Spirit has caused a new nature to be born in him.

TRUE DOCTRINE
On true doctrine rests the worship of the true and living God. From error in doctrine springs the worship of a false god. There is a tendency among many religious people to undervalue true doctrine, to exalt morality at the expense of the character of God and the teachings of our Lord, and to deny the importance of a sound creed. I do not doubt that a sound creed has often covered an unsound life. But when I hear it said, “Such and such do not believe the doctrines of sovereign grace and substitution, but they love the Lord and are saved,” I wonder and ask, “What then was the Bible written for?” Is it no infallible expression of the mind of God? Is it no standard of Truth? Are we to believe what appeals to us and deny the rest? God forbid! God’s Word declares the oneness of Truth and condemns EVERY DEPARTURE FROM THE TRUTH AS A DIRECT ATTACK ON GOD HIMSELF! Do not tell me that a man’s heart is right with God when his head contains a creed of error and denies the Person and Word of the Redeemer.

Peace is Better
“The peace of God which passeth all understanding shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4:7
Usually, this verse is thought to mean that the peace of God is too great to be understood. Surely there is some truth to that, for the peace of God is a miracle of grace in the heart ministered by the Holy Spirit. Like everything else our God does, it is unsearchable and passed finding out. Rom 11:33. However, there is something more glorious and liberating to be seen in this passage of scripture. The word “passeth” means to be higher than, better, or more excellent. The Lord is telling us that in Christ Jesus there is something better than understanding. How often we sacrifice the peace of God for understanding. We become disquieted and fearful in our attempt to understand and control our circumstances. Oh to be careful for nothing, to make our request known onto God through prayer and supplication with thanksgiving. Then the peace of God which far exceeds any understanding will keep our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
