“Moses said, ‘The Lord God will raise up for you a prophet like me from your brothers. You shall listen to him in whatever he tells you. And it shall be that every soul who does not listen to that prophet shall be utterly destroyed from the people.’” vs32-33
If we don’t hear that Prophet, the Lord Jesus Christ, then we will be destroyed. This is a warning. Peter preached mercy and wrath. He preached the whole counsel of God.
The believer is immediately blessed with all things, for he has Christ and God. The unbeliever is under a curse, God is against him, and he teeters on the edge of destruction. If he doesn’t turn, God’s shining sword will be wet with his blood [Deuteronomy 32:41]. There is no middle ground. Christ’s death is either for us, or Christ will curse us with death. Revelations 14:11, “And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever.” It’s salvation by the Lamb or it’s His wrath, so we must repent [Rev 19:15].
God is gracious and merciful! He’s willing to receive the sinner who murdered His Son.
Acts 3:15-20, “and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses…And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did also your rulers…Repent therefore, and turn again, that your sins may be blotted out, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus.”
If we don’t repent, however, then He’ll pour upon us the fiercest wrath.
Some overly wise fools have done away with God’s wrath! They say it isn’t possible for a loving God to be eternally vengeful, but they’ve FORGOTTEN TO LOOK AT THE CROSS! Do you realize what He suffered is equivalent to eternal hell for the souls of millions of sinners? He cried out in agony unto death. God died upon the cross in the Man Christ Jesus; it is a wonder of wonders, but no mere man could have paid for the elect. No one man’s blood could have been sufficient. There was eternal sufferings on the cross endured by God in the flesh, and He died to prove that God’s wrath is as hot as hell, as eternal as heaven, and the smoke of His enemies shall rise forever! Revelation 19:3, “A second time they said: ‘Hallelujah! Her smoke ascends forever and ever!’” This is not hyperbole! These are the ultimate stakes.
Hear Him, and believe on Christ, or else. Become obedient!
