In the last week I have been in the open air twice, to preach the Gospel. Two very different situations were both met with real blessing from the Lord, to whom I return my thanks, and also go on my way rejoicing. Although we are still in lockdown here in Hull, I was able to go into the city centre and preach. There were enough people around. I used an old olympus voice recorder with a condensor mic, which did a great job, and even picked up the voices of the several hecklers who were there. It is however a mono mic, and i have now obtained a stereo mic to replace it.
At first, in Hull, there was a group of hecklers who politely argued over the issue of whether it is possible for people to change sex. There was then a man of around 35 who asked a number of questions, and as you can hear quite clearly we were getting on quite well in conversation. After this two Christians appeared, which was a great encouragement. One was a young Christian who is not long saved and it was thrilling to meet such a one willing to be pulicly identified with the Gospel ministry. The second was an African brother who spoke of sharing Isaiah 53 with Jewish people with the hope that they would see in the Lord Jesus Christ their true Messiah.
The link to all this is in the bar above. Thrilling!
I live in a terraced house, but I need a place to preach loudly and, thinking hard bout the problem, came to the conclusion that the only place I could find was in a quiet country lane. I drove through the Yorkshire Wolds and stopped at a random spot. This proved to be a remarkable providence, as it turned out as it urned out that i had stopped in a rare natural amphitheatre in which, if necessary, thousands could have clearly stood and heard a pin drop. I imagined the place being filled with thousands listening to John Wesley during the Great Awakening. May we soon see such a thing in our days. Wesley did actually preach at in a natural amphitheatre which I believe was in Tintagel in Cornwall.
I used a DJi gimble device to hold my mobile phone and placed it on my car bonnet. Those of you who are eagle eyed will spot a white barn owl hunting behind me. The point is, that as an experiment in Gospel preaching, it was a success, and I intend to use this approach often in the future, God willing.

I am grateful to Rich Moore of Christian Sermon and Audio Books who tidies up the sound (hard work) and then posts these things on his web pages.
As the Spurgeon's sermon has now had more than 3000 viewings by people all over the world, it demonstrates the value of the new method.
God has been very good to me!
