Bill Clinton "not only signed on to the idea of the ‘new world order’, but dramatically expanded the concept beyond Bush’s formulation…" says Wikipedia.

After eight years of Clinton came Bush’s son, who also had business in Iraq, but not as popular. He was responding to some intelligence he had received about weapons of mass destruction being housed by the Iraqi dictator. He seems to have taken the luster from the whole NWO thrust, but the goal of the nations did not die with Bush.

Henry Kissinger could be heard echoing the dream in 1994. "The New World Order cannot happen without U.S. participation, as we are the most significant component. Yes there will be a New World Order, and it will force the United States to change its perceptions."

Fast forward fifteen years. Kissinger is still repeating the mantra when giving advice to incoming President Obama about the current Israeli crisis: " It is time to reevaluate American foreign policy… I think that [Obama’s] task will be to develop an overall strategy for America in this period, when really a ‘new world order’ can be created. It’s a great opportunity. It isn’t such a crisis."

Tony Blair, former Prime Minister of the U.K. used the same term in speeches in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003. "There is a new world order, like it or not……the call was for a new world order. But a new order presumes a new consensus. It presumes a shared agenda and a global partnership to do it."

Shockingly enough to a non-Muslim mindset is the call of former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, of unhappy memory, for such an order. One shudders to think of the consequences to the world if he were ever to become the head of such a government:

He is said to have suggested that it was time to propose new ideologies for running the world. Iran’s stated goal is to establish a new world order based on world peace, global collective security, reciprocity and justice.

Of course, when Communists and Islamists speak of peace and justice, they mean peace and justice by their rules, on their terms. Otherwise, it’s "off with their heads." How many times will foolish men be sucked into these pipe dreams by men of proven tyrannical murderous habits?

Once too many times, for sure.

Does the desire for a world dominated by one ideology, one set of laws, even one man, still exist? It is reported that Mr. Obama left a note on the ResoluteDesk of the Oval Office for Mr. Trump. It read, in part, that, "It’s up to us, through action and example, to sustain the international order that’s expanded steadily since the end of the Cold War, and upon which our own wealth and safety depend."
