This obvious display of human arrogance is evident in us... all too often, our ONLY desire is to yell loud enough that no one else can be heard. We are so proud of our one, tiny thought, that we shout and scream it out, never realizing that it is, in fact, a foolish, childish notion. The half- formed ramblings of an untrained mind. Age is no cure, time spent in human study is no solution, only the refreshing, remaking, reframing work of the Spirit of God can make us wise. But, we are so frequently guilty of avoiding all contact with His truth, we run from God, attack Christians who speak from scripture, hide from any and all who do not think exactly like we think. This is foolishness at it's very core, but it is what we desire, what we love...The path of wisdom says, rather, that we should seek counsel from God's Word, from those who know the truth of God, from those who walk in truth, from those who seek to know, not only what He says, but who seek to KNOW HIM! Before this path opens to us, we must first seek to understand; rather than seeking to spout our ideas, or trying to make sure that we are heard... we must FIRST recognize that we do not possess all of the answers, all of the solutions, all of the ways to fix what we think is broken... only God possesses that knowledge, and only in seeking to know Him can we even approach wisdom to obtain a beginning. Wisdom comes in hearing God's truth, God's Word, God's self-revelation... there is no wisdom anywhere else, and in the man whose only ideas are the offspring of his vanity, there is not even the beginning of wisdom... there is only the abundance of foolishness. Dear child, will you seek to obtain wisdom at the feet of God? Or will you protest your own vanities, and demonstrate your ample foolishnes?
