A picture of the world, remade under the reign and rule of the only true King, Jesus the Messiah; He is God made flesh, the only Savior of the world. This potent promise is one that we should strive for, seeking to live out His commands of grace in the midst of this dark and dying age. The flavor of this awesome promise should permeate our lives, our speech, our actions. So that the world will know the truth of what we say we are. But it also becomes a means by which we measure the truth of what we see... when hatred is the flavor, it is born out in the ACTIONS of those who speak... when violence and destruction are the constant outgrowth of a person's life, and when it is the specific rule of a moment's ethos it tells us something important about what that person or movement truly is about. When violence, murder and all manner of evil follow in our wake, we must honestly ask if our lives, and our message and our objectives are what we say they are. When peace is the end of our speech it tells us something; but when our speech is the ending of peace it speaks something as well. Dear one, what is your life and speech saying to those who are listening? The only way that peace will EVER be the rule of this life is when God in Christ is the center of our lives. As long as He is banished from our hearts, His gift of peace is also banished from our lives, and from our world.
