The command to declare, the call to proclaim, the imperative instruction to announce the truth that God has communicated... and what is the truth we are to cry out from the rooftops and the market places? It is that God is more, that He is worth it all, that nothing is anything when it is compared to Him! We are not told to speak words of man's worth, but rather, to remind all that apart from Him, we HAVE no worth!! Even in the midst of our greatest strength, we are facing the withering of that same power. We are diminishing, we are fading, we are passing out of time, and out of memory... to spend ourselves in the pursuit of all that is great in us is to build a house with its foundation in the wind. We waste ourselves, and our pitiful handful of days if that is all we seek. The quest for true significance is not found in government, in service to mankind, in the amassing of wealth, possessions or power... true significance can only be found by the investment of this life in that which lasts beyond the end of this world. True significance is only found when we ourselves are found in Him. For God alone is the basis for eternity, God alone is the foundation for life, and for life everlasting... dear, precious child, I beg you in light of our common heritage, let go your grip on the stuff that fades, cling instead with all you are to the Christ Who is only access to the Father. He will last for all eternity. Everything else is les than a vapor...
