It is both humbling and awesomely amazing to know that we still need God to teach us His ways. We can understand NOTHING spiritual apart from the direct working of His Spirit. This is true of the once born, for their eyes are darkened to all truth until God breathes life into them... but it is still true of we who are born again! This is sometimes forgotten, sometimes overlooked, and sometimes arrogantly denied, but apart from the working of God, no knowledge of spiritual truth is even possible. We need God to teach us His truth, to teach us His law, to write it on the walls of our hearts and open our eyes to our need for His precepts to be the rule of our lives. The mere fact that God has said is enough to make us accountable TO that law; but God is not content to leave thus...He also presses our conscience and our spirits to desire that obedience. Beloved, if His Word is precious to you, if His law is your delight, if His ways are all you desire, then praise Him for the infinite mercy of that living heart!! Praise the One who makes you His own!!!
