So said Darius, pagan king of godless Babylon... it is a wonder when God uses His faithful servants to display the power of His hand even in the eyes of an unbelieving world... but notice this simple fact, before this decree was issued, Daniel spent the night in the lion's den. Before that event he went home and prayed as he had been accustomed to do, and before that... he continued to trust in his God despite the terrible turn of events which his enemies had set in motion around him. He did not waver, he did not whine, he did not surrender or capitulate... he trusted in God and did as he had always done, knowing that whatever God would do, would be ok; knowing that whether he lived or died, God would be praised, and that was enough for him. Beloved, the huge things are ALWAYS preceded by a long list of little things, so be faithful in the days of little things, and may God grant you strength for the big things that are yet to be!
