This is the description of the age... the days are evil. Walk in wisdom, redeeming the time. To redeem something is to buy it back, to rescue it from the prison where it languishes. To redeem is to spend of yourself, to give from your strength, to be willing to meet the cost because of the value of the thing redeemed.. to redeem time is to understand that it is already in the hand of the enemy, that it is already captive and already serving a master other than yours. And that IS the state of things; our time is so cut, so spoken for, so booked up... and yet, most of what consumes our days is, at best, pure nonsense! Look with wisdom, circumspectly... seeing all aspects, on that which owns your days, and destroys your effectiveness and spend yourself to possess your own time. Do this so that you may, in turn, spend it wisely, on that which matters, on that which lasts, on the things of God!!
