Matthew 6:6 (NKJV): But you, when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly. The motive of the hypocrite is towards men... the hypocrite wants men to see them and to praise them. If we belong to God, there will be no concern for what men approve or desire from us, we will instead seek the Lord in truth, to remember that He is watching in glory... we ARE supposed to care that Someone is watching... but God is that Someone...
He is the only Someone. We live out our lives on the stage of heaven... the audience of one is watching and He chooses to display His great glory in us. Further, He has set the order of the world in such a way that He allows us to reflect the glory that is His, the majesty of His purpose. And in His pleasure for His children, He does do much more than man's notice or hollow praise could ever do. He Himself also allows the very heavens, and all the hosts therein to see this display of glory...when your Father rewards, oh blessed favored child of Heaven, you will indeed be rewarded!!
