There is no shortage of false teachers, false "prophets" who are quick to assure you that holiness is not important. They will use trite sayings, misapplied scripture and will be quick to tell you that we are under grace, and not under law... the attempt to "free" you from the burden of holiness is a lie straight from the pit of hell, and will return there with captives in its train!! John here tells us plainly, that those who belong to Christ will do all they can to walk in the same manner that Jesus did upon the earth, for if we love Him, and we love the things He loves... then the thing we want is the thing He says. And so, the thing we DO is the thing He says, and it gives testimony to who we are, and to WHOSE we are!!
