How easy is the path to forgiveness, and yet, for fallen man nothing could be more difficult. All God requires is that we acknowledge our guilt, turn towards Him and trust Him alone. This is repentance at its core, but our first thought, our primary response is "I have done nothing wrong". It is impossible for us to turn from sin when we do not believe we have any sin TO turn from. This is why John reminds us that if we say we have no sin we are lying to ourselves, and the truth is not in us (1 John 1:8). Here is the simple truth, we ALWAYS need to practice repentance. There is never one moment in your life when repentance is off the table... but the glory, the wonder, the joy, is that God never turns away the soul that confesses, repents and cries for mercy. Dear One, do not ever pretend that you do not need Him, for He is always offering forgiveness and complete restoration. There is nothing standing between you and your God, except the sin that He stands ready to forgive.
