Here is a plea, a promise, a warning and a hope... our land, our people, our churches need them all! We plead for God to not remain angry forever, to turn His face toward us in peace - make no mistake, we cannot demand this, it is a plea for mercy, and mercy we need. Our sins mount to the heavens; as a nation, we have forsaken the truth of God for the "wisdom" of man's vanity and fleshly desires; as the church, we have largely abandoned our place of influence and authority by accepting the lie that we should wage our battles with the weapons of the world instead of the gospel; as a people, we have fallen prey to the lie that personal holiness is an option, rather than a command... but take heart, here is the promise of God for us. He will speak peace to us, He will restore us and He will give life. Let us embrace the fear of the Lord with our whole hearts, let us seek His glory, and His ways, and let us find a newness of life in the midst of these dark days. Our God is merciful, our God is gracious, our God is always ready to heal and forgive. Let us seek Him while He may be found.
