"Down in a dark dungeon there was a bright Knight. All silver all satin all ready for a fight.
Silver as satin, bright as a bow,
I have told you three times and still you don't know." : author unknown
THE FOUR HORSES RIDE
They came riding and snorting and stomping their feet.
The first was silvery white and carried a bow.
He drew it staight back to let an arrow go.
But none need he find for fiercely he rode.
The second was red as if covered by blood.
He carried a sword all sharpened to fight.
He made war with the nations with conquering force.
And brought them to ruin in a day and a night.
The third was as dark as the blackness of night.
He rode with great dread, but not to fight.
He was the grim reaper who follows a man of war.
For Death and Hell he brought with him, a harvest of blood.
The fourth horse was pale green, bleak and in ruin.
With famine in his hands, he held a balance scale.
In famine and starvation, he weighted the food of all men.
The costly price he carried to claim the souls who fail.
The four horses will ride on to the dreaded scene.
And none shall avert their will to be done.
In pride and arrogant swagger which cannot be stayed.
They are sent forth by the Lord who break the first seal.
